Meet The Filmmakers

A Conversation Around African Cinema, Hosted By African Diaspora International Film Festival

Lovers of films, especially those created by people from the African diaspora, can meet the African filmmakers who will be showcasing their creative works during The African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF). Hosted by ADIFF, which is a minority-led not-for profit international film festival that presents, interprets and educates about films that explore the human experience of people of color all over the world in order to inspire imaginations, disrupt stereotypes and help transform attitudes that perpetuate injustice, has pulled together three African filmmakers for a conversation around African films and documentaries. The virtual meet and greet includes a Q&A with these filmmakers:

·        “The Eagle's Nest,” Director Olivier Assoua, who is an award-winning Cameroonian born British writer, producer, director and editor.

·        “I, Mary,” Producer Bridget Pickering is a filmmaker and producer from Namibia. Among other projects, she was an executive producer on the 2004 film Hotel Rwanda. She is the daughter of Namibian diplomat and trade unionist, Advocate Arthur Pickering.

·        “Nameless,” Director Mutiganda Wa Nkunda is a Rwandan film and television writer, director and producer. He switched the career to film journalism and filmmaking to pursue his long time passion.
