Rising Up for Parks And Recreation. Highlighting The People, Places That Make A Community

During the month of July, M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County will join parks around the nation in celebration of National Park and Recreation Month.

“Rise Up for Parks and Recreation,” is the theme for 2022 and will recognize professionals who build strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation. This year, attention will be brought to showcase how important it is to rise up and support our field, because every day, park and recreation professionals rise up for their communities in service of equity, climate-readiness, and overall health and well-being. In addition, on July 15th, the Department will celebrate its employees for their hard work and dedication to building stronger and healthier communities. Join us in showing your appreciation in recognition for Park and Recreation Professionals Day.

Several events have been planned until July 31, 2022, to celebrate how Prince George’s is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of parks and recreation.

The Department invites the Prince George’s County community to share their experiences, memories, and stories about what parks and recreation means to them.
