The Harbor Café and Coffee at National Harbor Pairs Yumminess with Great Customer Service

By PGS Media

Sure The Harbor Café and Coffee is a perfect spot for great breakfast sandwiches and fresh coffee, but no need to stop there. The family-owned business at National Harbor may be small and perhaps not very attractive, but it strives to present their customers with great customer service that is hard to find at most busy locales. It is one of the few places in the area that opens daily at 6 am and you can enjoy lunch items until closing at 7 pm.

It's more than just a breakfast joint, but customers can attest to great bacon egg and cheese croissants throughout the day. Andyes, you can get the turkey sausage instead of the bacon. And if you're really into health, go for the egg whites. Don't want it on a croissant? Get it on a roll or fresh bagel.

Tired of restaurants that only offer chicken or beef gyros? The Harbor Café and Coffee has the classic lamb gyro that customers claim is the best gyro in Oxon Hill. Or check out their chicken cheese steak with jalapeño on pita bread. And if you want something small and to go, try an empanada - surprisingly, they have them there and you can choose from a Cubano (pork), chicken and mushroom, carne (beef), or spinach and cheese. At just $2.50 each, you can try a couple.  Vegetarian? No problem. They offer a Veggi Delight sandwich and black bean burger.

Thirsty? A delicious fruit smoothie - made with real fruit, not sugary syrups - in a variety of flavors is refreshing after a workout and especially in warmer weather while walking around the Harbor with friends. People swear by the mango banana smoothie, but they also have a great kale and pineapple one. Need a boost of energy after work? Go in for their delicious lattes. Try the chi, soy or vanilla. A more basic cold drink is their iced coffee.

For the sweet tooth, try their baked goods; cakes and pastries (as well as breads and rolls) are their own recipes baked on their premises, so they're always fresh. .

Another thing to enjoy? Their prices! Sandwiches are just $6.95 and there's a military discount.

If you're not in Oxon Hill, try one of their sister restaurants in these other Maryland areas: Temple Hills, Washington, Waldorf, and Friendly.  Each location serves up a little something for everyone.
