Maryland LCV Ed Fund Becomes First Maryland Organization To Join American Flood Coalition

The Maryland League of Conservation Voters Education Fund (Maryland LCV Ed Fund) announced it has become the first Maryland group, individual or entity to join the American Flood Coalition, a non-partisan multi state organization advocating for solutions to flooding and sea level rise.

With membership ranging from Massachusetts to Florida, The American Flood Coalition includes almost 100 political, military, business and civic leaders that have come together to consider, educate themselves on and implement national activities that support flood-affected coastal and inland communities.

“As a member of The American Flood Coalition, Maryland LCV Ed Fund can give flood-affected communities across Maryland access to the policy and planning innovations that can help counter higher sea-levels, stronger storms, and the frequent flooding associated with them,” said Maryland LCV Ed Fund Executive Director Karla Raettig.

The coalition includes Governors, members of Congress, state-level lawmakers, Mayors, civic organizations and businesses.

The overview guide is designed for municipal elected officials, while the technical guide is designed to walk municipal staff through the process.
