Prince George’s County Department Of The Environment Promotes Environmental And Health Issues
A commitment to the environment or “going green” has become an integral element of doing business around the world and a way of life. The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment and other county partners and presenters will host a free one-day Green Summit that will engage, promote and empower action for tackling various environmental and health issues in the community. The Green Summit takes place on Saturday, October 22,10:00am until 2:00pm. At the Kentland Community Center (2413 Pinebrook Ave, Landover, 20785).
This annual event will have green vendors, workshops, food trucks, interactive and kid-friendly activities and so much more fun for the whole family. While there is free onsite parking, we encourage you to walk, bike, take the bus, train or carpool to reduce your carbon footprint. Participants can take public transportation to the Community Center.
Green Summit will feature:
Kids games
Wildflower seed ball workshop
Electric Vehicle (EV) demonstration
Protecting your home from flooding and becoming climate resilient
How to recycle right, compost and reduce your waste
Rebate and grant information for your home and community
Local partners, non-profits, County agencies, and various stakeholders tabling with giveaways
