'TIS the FLU
Four Basic Tips to a Flu-Free Season
When it comes to flu prevention, common sense is key. Still, sometimes we need to be reminded of how to protect ourselves. Start with these tips:
· Get a flu shot. The flu vaccine is recommended for everyone over the age of 6 months. Get it now, before the flu hits your community. The shot takes about two weeks to be effective.
· Keep your distance. Avoid crowds and places where you’re likely to pick up flu germs. That includes skipping a visit to the doctor’s office when a call will do.
· Wash up. Get in the habit of washing your hands not only after using the restroom but before meals, after shaking hands and before touching your face. Use hand sanitizer when you can’t wash your hands with soap and water.
· Wipe it down. Use sanitizing wipes to regularly disinfect surfaces at home and work, especially before eating. And don’t forget your cell phone.
Here’s to staying flu-free this season!
