Women with Cancer Get a Beauty Boost at Luminis Health Annapolis on Valentine’s Day
This Valentine’s Day, Luminis Health’s Oncology Team will offer pampering, self-care, and support for individuals impacted by cancer.
The “Beautiful You” Event, to be held at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC) in Annapolis, supports women who are battling cancer with free wigs. The goal is to enhance natural beauty while fostering a sense of community.
LHAAMC will offer lunch, mini makeovers, free wigs and wig styling, wig care advice, and skin consultations.
“For cancer patients, losing your hair can be traumatic, often impacting one’s confidence and self-esteem,” said Susanne Tameris, Senior Director of Cancer Services at Luminis Health. “This event is a small but meaningful way we can offer comfort, beauty, and support during such a vulnerable time. It’s a chance to help individuals feel like themselves again—beautiful, strong, and empowered. There’s no better day to show this kind of love and compassion than Valentine’s Day.”
In addition to beauty treatments, the event offers a space for women to connect with others battling cancer, to find comfort and share experiences.
EBeauty Community for Cancer Support, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting women undergoing cancer treatment, is providing wigs free of charge. LHAAMC has partnered with EBeauty, the LHAAMC Foundation, and The Temple Annapolis-Paul Mitchell Partner School to offer these sessions.
