Prince George's County To Host Free Drive-Up Pet Vaccination Sept. 21

Free Vaccines, Microchips, and Peace of Mind for County Pet Owners

By B. Thayer

LARGO, MD – Prince George’s County residents will have the advantage to protect their pets at no cost during a Free Drive-Up Dog and Cat Vaccination Clinic on Sunday, September 21, 2025. The event, sponsored by the Department of the Environment’s Animal Services Division (ASD), will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Prince George’s County Animal Services and Adoption Facility, located at 3750 Brown Station Road, Upper Marlboro.

The clinic, which will take place rain or shine, is open exclusively to County residents upon providing proof of residency. Each household may bring up to two pets to receive free rabies and distemper vaccinations, microchipping, and even free pet licenses.

“We are excited to once again offer a free drive-up rabies and vaccination service to our Prince George’s County residents for their beloved pets,” said David L. Fisher, Chief and Administrator for ASD. “The free services will help provide some financial relief to owners who want to ensure their pets stay healthy and happy.”

Organizers remind participants that rabies vaccines are available only for pets four months or older, and proof of prior vaccination is required for a three-year rabies certificate. Pets under four months may receive only a microchip. The organizers require that all pets must arrive on a leash or in a carrier and remain under control.

Attendees should be prepared for wait times, as animals will be transported in and out of the vehicle. Supplies are first-come, first-served, and while registration is encouraged, it does not guarantee service.

For more information, residents can contact the Prince George’s County Animal Services Division or visit the county’s website.
