“No day shall erase you from the memory of time.” —Virgil

Twenty years ago, the unimaginable happened. In acts of sheer terror, terrorists tore at the very fabric of America as tour commercial planes struck at our very core. More than 3,000 souls perished on that day (and 25,000 were injured) at the World Trade Center in New York City, The Pentagon in Washington, DC, and in a field in Shanksville, PA. In the 20 years that followed, more than 2,000 others would die from ailments directly related to the debris from those attacks.

Terrorists attempted to bring America to its knees; instead, on that day and the days that followed, Americans pulled together and proved their resiliency through their patriotic courage to stand as one.

These are stories of Prince Georgian residens or people who work in the county who remember how their lives were touched by 9/11 —- and some who are on duty now, protecting U.S. shores.
