A Discussion About Mental Wellness

Presented by Maryland Delegate Jamila Woods the April 26 Mental Wellness event attracted nearly 100 people to the Oxon Hill Library. The event, called “Balance & Beyond: A Mental Wellness” promoted mental wellness for individuals from middle school through adulthood.






The panel included Woods who was joined by School Board Member Lolita Walker (District 9), speaker Winslow Woodland, MSN, RN from The Black Nurses Association of Greater Washington, DC Area and facilitator Alexis Brown, a Public Policy Student at the University of Maryland, College Park who also served as Woods’ intern during the legislative session.

Free wellness bags, Chick-fil-A refreshments, and therapy dogs on-site for a little extra comfort and joy!
