Gala Honors Men and Women Who Make a Difference
Community Youth Advance, a grassroots organization dedicated to improving the education and life outcomes for youth, will honor men and women who have shown a commitment to enhancing the Prince George’s County community at its seventh annual “Men & Women Who Make The Difference” event to take place on November 10, 2017 (from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm) at Martin's Camelot in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Community Youth Advance—born out of the merger between two notable Prince George’s County nonprofits Mentoring to Manhood, Inc. and Community Tutoring Inc.—goal is to improve the academic performance for young boys and girls in the County.
Leon Harris, NBC4 Anchor and 2016 honoree, will host this year’s gala. The evening will end with dancing and music featuring Nelly’s Echo. More than 250 parents, students, business professionals and community leaders from around the region are expected to attend the celebration.
This year’s honorees include:

● Curtis Valentine, MPP - Board Member, Prince George’s County Public Schools
●Tonia Wellons - Founder and Director, Prince George’s County Social Innovation Fund
●Dr. James A. Dula - CEO, James Dula Consulting
● Donna Cooper - President, PEPCO Region
