Beautification Of Prince George’s Set To Launch Thru Growing Green With Pride Oct. 19. Registration Deadline Oct. 4

Although it’s always a good time for cleaning and greening, there’s something special about a team-focused effort that brings everyone together.

Growing Green With Pride has that type of unifying boost. Last spring’s effort brought greater participation and polished returns in cleaning up thousands of pounds of trash around the county. There were over 2,200 participants in the clean-up campaign on May 4. There were 95 organizations involved, 23 schools. Click here to read, “Making It Easy to be Green.”

Prince George’s County’s bi-annual countywide beautification event – ‘Growing Green with Pride’ – will take place Oct. 19 rain or shine.  The County invites community organizations, schools, businesses, municipalities, and anyone interested in helping to keep our County clean and green to participate. The registration deadline is October 4th for this community cleanup event.

For registered participants, DPW&T will provide plastic gloves, trash bags, safety vests, litter grabbers, and a maximum of eight (8) bags of mulch for the event. Students who participate in ‘Growing Green with Pride’ can receive community service hours.  Community service verification forms are available at schools.

‘Growing Green with Pride’ is a partnership between Prince George’s County Government, Prince George’s County Public Schools, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Keep Prince George’s County Beautiful, and the Neighborhood Design Center.
