Vaccination Process To Enter Next Phase In County
County Executive Angela Alsobrooks Announces Updates And Next Steps In Distribution
Here are the top five takeaways from the Jan 19 update by County Executive Alsobrooks:
1. Effective Jan. 18, Prince George’s County entered phase 1B of the vaccination process which includes: seniors 75+, assisted living and other congregate settings, teachers in schools, support staff, childcare workers, critical government leaders of continuity and operations.
2. Preregister to make a vaccination appointment. Appointments are on a first-come-first-served basis. Preregister at mypgc.us/covidvaccine
3. Bring ID and Insurance (if you have insurance) to the vaccination appointment
4. Do not use Internet Explorer to make an appointment. Use Safari, Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or a smartphone.
5. Beginning Jan. 21, some 1,000 vaccinations will be administered per day at the Sports and Learning Center Complex, Monday-Friday through the end of the month, with more distribution sites to come.
County’s COVID standing. Since March 2020: 63,316 cases, 6,479 hospitalized, 1,144 deaths.
The county’s infection rate is 1.8% --- each infected person is infecting two others.
