Back To School Scavenger Hunt, Proud To Be Protected
From the Desk of the County Executive
It’s mid-August and for many, this means like the end of summer and the beginning of the school year is approaching. But fear not! The County still has an exciting thing for young people to experience, like the “Back-2-School Scavenger Hunt” that will be held on Saturday, August 28, from 6pm to 9pm at The Tanger Outlets in Oxon Hill, Md., for County residents ages 12-17.
The Back-2-School Scavenger Hunt is the closeout event of the Alsobrooks Summer Passport Experience program centered on what the County calls the “3 E’s: Education, Experience/Entertainment and Entrepreneurship.” Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks helped create this program “to provide young people safe opportunities to learn and socialize in structured environments during the summer,” the County said in a statement earlier this season.
Covid vaccination was made available at the beginning of the program to participating youth.
There is still space available for the Back-2-School Scavenger Hunt which is open to County residents ages 12-17. Participants must register in advance via email at pgcpassport2021@co.pg.md.us. Register soon before spots fill up!
COVID-19 Vaccine Update
The County has reached additional milestones in its vaccination program. The CDC is reporting 75.5% of adults (ages 18+) in the County have received at least one vaccination, meaning more than three-fourths of adults are now Proud to be Protected. Also, 65% of residents ages 12 and older are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Please encourage family, friends, and anyone else that has not been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible. Residents can find the nearest vaccine site at mypgc.us/COVIDVaccine.
