Addressing Zoning Laws In Prince George's
County Council Gets Fast To Work On Zoning and Development Legislation
On Monday, Dec 12, in an effort to hit the ground running and tackle critically important constituent concerns, The Prince George’s County Council convened as a Committee of the Whole held an in-person session at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building to consider proposed measures eligible for final adoption of five resolutions that address rewriting zoning in the county.
The following legislation was approved:
● CR-003-2023 suspending the effective date of certain recently enacted zoning laws pertaining to development in Prince George’s County.
● CR-004-2023 regarding certain limitations on the time for processing of development applications pursuant to the superseded prior Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County for the development of Townhouse and One-family dwelling uses in the R-A (Residential Agricultural) Zone of Prince George’s County.
● CR-005-2023 regarding transitional provisions - limitations-use of prior ordinance for the purpose of approving, with the force and effect of law, certain limitations on the time for processing of development applications pursuant to the superseded prior Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County.
