Indoor Mask Mandate Lifted in Prince George’s
Declining COVID-19 Case Data Reports Prompt Alsobrooks Administration To End Mask Requirement
Due to a continued and significant drop in COVID-19 cases thanks to the hard work of Prince Georgians, Prince George’s County lifted its indoor mask mandate on Monday, February 28, 2022. We have continued to follow the data since the beginning of this pandemic, and the data now tell us it is safe to make this decision. When we announced the lifting of the indoor mask mandate on Friday, February 25, Prince George’s County had the lowest COVID-19 transmission rate of any jurisdiction in the State of Maryland.
We understand some residents will want to continue to wear masks, so we ask everyone to continue to be respectful of each other. As a reminder, masks are still required on public transportation, per CDC Order. If you would like to watch the press conference announcing the lifting of the indoor mask mandate, click here.
