US Air Force Joint Base Andrews 316th Wing Host Annual Air & Space Expo, Sept. 16-18

 

From the sky, the sound of thunder greets the audience gathered to be entertained and amazed by the very skillful and complicated movements of military pilots performing at the 2022 Joint Base Andrews Air & Space Expo. The annual event takes place September 16 through September 18, honoring the longstanding relationship between JBA service members and the local community as well as showcasing military strength and airpower. Guests will park at FedEx Field in Landover, MD, and be bused to the Joint Base Andrews flight line starting at 8:30 a.m. Buses will stop running from FedEx Field to the JBA flight line at 1 p.m. Buses will run continuously from the JBA flight line to go to FedEx Field from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

  This year’s show features a variety of aerial demonstrations, including performances by the Air Force Thunderbirds, Wings of Blue, F-35 Lightning II, and the Army Golden Knights and celebrates the Air Force's 75th Anniversary.


September 16

Is only open to valid DOD ID cardholders and their guests. Personnel with a valid DOD credential can escort up to six personnel in the same vehicle as the ID cardholder on to the base. Base access for guests requires a valid ID. Gates will open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. each day. On DOD-only day, attendees should follow security forces’ instructions and posted signs to the designated parking areas.

 

September 17-18

Saturday and Sunday’s show will be free and open to the public. No general admission tickets are required to see the show. No public parking is available on the base. Shuttles will run from FedEx Field. In-bound buses to the event will begin shuttling guests at 8:30 a.m. and stop running at 1 p.m. Out-bound buses will run to FedEx Field from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For FedEx Field parking, those requiring Americans with Disabilities Act parking access are encouraged to use the Morgan Boulevard entrance to the arena.
