Council Member Edward Burroughs Announces Free Tuition For District 8

Prince George’s County Council Member Edward Burroughs said he was delighted to announce that the residents of District 8 who live within a six-mile radius surrounding the MGM Casino can attend Prince George's Community College tuition free. To date, $2 million dollars has been allocated to the Local Impact Grant/Scholarship Funding at Prince George's Community College just for you and he needs your help to spread the word to our District 8 neighbors.

When the MGM Casino was built, a portion of the gaming and tax revenue was dedicated to the surrounding community through the MGM Local Impact Grant Fund. Those funds had previously been used to make purchases and pay for projects that District 8’s tax dollars already fund. “It has been an honor to strengthen the resolution to include scholarships for free tuition,” Burroughs said.
