Aid For Prince Georgians As Government Shutdown Looms
County Executive Alsobrooks Launches New Resource Page For Furloughed Workers Ahead Of Potential Federal Government Shutdown
Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced the launch of a new landing page with local resources and services for furloughed workers ahead of a potential federal government shutdown. The page contains information about resources including healthcare, unemployment support, food assistance, and more, that will be available for workers who may be furloughed during a federal government shutdown.
“Just as the federal government shutdown of 2019 impacted so many Prince Georgians who are federal workers, we know another potential shutdown in the coming days would negatively impact our community,” said Alsobrooks. “While political division continues in Washington, Prince George’s County Government stands ready to maintain essential local services to our residents. We will ensure that our residents have full access to these resources and services should a federal government shutdown occur.”
The new landing page is available on the Prince George’s County Government website here: https://www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/3053/Federal-Government-Shutdown-Assistance.
The page includes an initial set of resources that are available. In the event of a shutdown, the County will work to identify additional resources and services and make updates to this landing page as needed.
