Prince George’s County Unveils Bold New Transit Vision Plan

Prince George’s County has taken a major leap forward in reimagining how residents and visitors move through the region with the unveiling of its new Transit Vision Plan (TVP) — a cornerstone of the County’s broader Transit Transformation process. This ambitious blueprint promises to deliver a more vibrant, connected, and equitable future for all who live, work, and travel in the county.

At its heart, the TVP is more than just a transportation roadmap; it’s a community-focused strategy grounded in accessibility, safety, and sustainability. With an emphasis on creating inclusive, reliable, and user-friendly transit, the plan is designed to meet the evolving needs of a growing and diverse population while supporting economic growth and environmental resilience.

“This is a pivotal moment for Prince George’s County,” said a county spokesperson. “The Transit Vision Plan reflects our deep commitment to building a world-class transit system that serves everyone — no matter where they live or how they travel.”

The TVP is available online, with highlights and full documentation accessible through the TVP website’s Document Library. Visitors can explore various sections of the plan using the intuitive navigation tools located at the top and bottom of each page.

Community feedback is a key part of the process. The County is encouraging residents to explore the plan and share their thoughts on the Get Involved! page before the comment period ends on June 1, 2025. As part of this outreach, a virtual meeting cohosted with RISE PGC will be held on May 22 at 6:30 p.m., providing a platform for residents to ask questions and engage directly with county planners.

With the TVP, Prince George’s County is not just planning for transit — it’s planning for people, neighborhoods, and a thriving future. The path to transformation has begun, and everyone is invited to ride along.
