Pro Basketball Magic Is Coming to Prince George’s

Get ready, Prince George’s County—basketball is taking center stage at Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) this Fall. On Thursday, October 2, from 4 to 7 p.m., the Novak Field House will host NBA Day, a free, family-friendly celebration presented by NBC4, Telemundo 44, the Washington Wizards, and PGCC. Doors open at 3 p.m., and the entire community is invited.

The event marks the much-anticipated return of the NBA on NBC and its debut on Peacock, and it’s being celebrated in Largo with a night full of hoops, entertainment, and family fun.

Fans can expect plenty of action, including a youth basketball clinic led by Wizards Youth Basketball staff, interactive games, and fun activities for all ages. On the court and off, the excitement will be electric—Wizards players Bub Carrington, Alex Sarr, Bilal Coulibaly, and Kyshawn George are set to appear, along with team alumni, dancers, mascots, and the Wizards entertainment crew. Music and energy will keep the crowd moving thanks to DJs, a Wizards in-arena host, and live performances from the PGCC jazz band and other local artists. Food and concessions will also be available.

For PGCC, the celebration is about more than basketball.

“NBA Day at PGCC unites our community and showcases the College as a place where education, culture, and opportunity meet—a true slam dunk that combines the spirit of the game with the power of learning,” said Dr. Falecia D. Williams, President of PGCC.

NBC4 and Telemundo 44 will provide live coverage throughout the event, with Molette Green and Doug Kammerer reporting from Novak Field House.

NBA Day is free and open to the public. RSVP in advance to secure your spot at this unforgettable community celebration.
