Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation mourns the passing of Mirinda Jackson, Prince George's County Council's Minority Business Enterprise Compliance Manager. With 15 years in the position and her experience fighting for balance in ensuring minority participation in business, Mirinda was one of the region's most respected professionals on both sides of the contracting table.

"Mirinda was a wonderful person who brought a pragmatic, clear-thinking approach to the important work of advocating for small and minority businesses in Prince George's County," said David Iannucci, President & CEO, Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation. "She was always willing to help companies reach their ultimate goals. She will be sorely missed."

Mirinda was a staunch champion of Prince George's County when it needed her the most during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Mirinda reflected the best of Prince George's County," said Marva Jo Camp, Esq., PGCEDC Board Vice-Chair. "She was a tireless advocate for minority, small, and women-owned businesses, she was a community servant and a mentor to so many. Mirinda was kind and caring, and she gave of herself unselfishly every day. I will miss my dear friend but will hold onto the memory of her beautiful smile, her wise counsel, and sweet spirit. Rest in Peace my good and faithful sister."

Mirinda Jackson worked with seven presidential administrations throughout her career and helped steer growth through numerous economic downturns. PGCEDC sends its condolences to the friends and family of Mirinda Jackson, a true champion of Prince George's County.
