The Arts and A Few Cold Ones At The 2016 Downtown Hyattsville Arts & Ales Festival
“Arts & Ales,” the 2016 Downtown Hyattsville Arts & Ales Festival taking place on Saturday, September 10 from 12 noon- 6 pm in downtown Hyattsville, incorporating three city blocks as part of the largest yearly arts event in the county. Over 4,500 visitors are expected to attend the juried festival that will feature over 100 exhibiting artists, Maryland craft breweries, food vendors, live music, performances and dance. Presented by a partnership of the Hyattsville Community Development Corporation and The Brewers Association of Maryland.
Hyattsville Community Development Corporation has been successfully producing the Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival for a few years but this year, for the first time, decided to partner with the Brewers Association of Maryland to expand their reach and hopefully, draw even more people to the festival.
Hyattsville and the surrounding community have been experiencing a growth on the arts scene to include the new homes of Pyramid Atlantic, new construction for Artworks Now and the installation of “Ribbon of Life” located by the new Safeway as well as five other public artworks projects in the area.
Lead sponsors include Brewers Association of Maryland, Hon. Deni Taveras, Prince George’s County District 2 Councilmember, City of Hyattsville, The Prince George’s County Revenue Authority, Washington City Paper’s Crafty Bastards Fair, and the Maryland State Arts Council.
