Kevin Durant Returns Home To Prince George’s County for Day-Long Festival

2017 National Basketball Association Champion Kevin Durant is headed back to his hometown of Seat Pleasant in Prince George’s County, Md. for an all-day free celebration.
“Kevin Durant Day Parade and Festival,” is set to take place on Thursday, August 17, at 10 a.m.,starting at Judith P. Hoyer Montessori School and ending at Goodwin Park with a festival to follow, will serve as the celebration for the professional basketball player’s extraordinary NBA win and his award as “Most Valuable Player” with the Golden State Warriors.
In addition to the festival, all community members can also expect the event to feature national and local recording artists, celebrities, prominent business leaders and a one-on-one basketball tournament on the outdoor courts that Durant donated to the Seat Pleasant Activity Center.
A hometown hero, Durant, affectionately nicknamed “KD”, was raised in Seat Pleasant, MD. and played high school basketball at National Christian Academy in Fort Washington before finishing his senior year at Montrose Christian School in Rockville, Md.
