Out of ideas for a good Spring break vacation for your family? Look no further as we provide you a list of four unique spring break ideas for 2018 that your family will love.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach,  Orlando Florida

It wouldn’t be a spring break list without including the number one spring break destination of all time: Orlando, Florida.

Instead of suggesting Disney World, we are going to suggest another Disney- related hidden treasure. Blizzard Beach is one of the two water parks included at the Walt Disney Resort. It's a wintery themed water park set to give the illusion of a melted away ski resort. Many Disney goers love this park for families because there are plenty of rides that allow families to ride together instead of having to do the routine of  separating and waiting at the end for one another. Unlike the Disney park, Blizzard Beach has plenty of seating areas and gives a family plenty of opportunities to rest  and find shade from the Orlando heat. Of course, parents will love the long and relaxing lazy river called Cross Country Creek while the children will enjoy the racing water slides and wave pool. Blizzard Beach is also known for having one of the tallest and fastest free falling water slides in the world called Summit Plummet which sits at 12 stories high. The best of all is that Blizzard Beach tickets are much cheaper than the Disney park tickets by costing an average of about $60 a person.

Mount Rushmore, South Dakota

Looking to do something a little more educational? Take a trip to the midwest state of South Dakota and visit the home of Mt. Rushmore. Learn the history of one of America’s greatest national memorials which holds the face of George Washington, Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. The memorial is free to visit but does require a $10 parking pass that gives you free parking for an entire year.

Mt. Rushmore is not the only attraction the Black Hills area has to offer. Not too far from Mt. Rushmore, families can visit the Crazy Horse memorial and watch as it is currently still being built.  There’s also Bear Country USA (open in April) which allows visitors to drive through a park inhabited by black bears, elk, mountain lions and more. Take a journey underground with a visit to the Jewel Cave National Park. This cave is the third largest cave in the world and over 190 miles long. There are plenty more activities and treasures hidden in the Black Hills of South Dakota and is definitely worth a family visit.

Massanutten Resort, VA

Want to stay a little closer to home? The Massanutten Resort in Virginia is a great option that’s not too far from Prince George’s County. Massanutten is a four season resort which allows plenty of activities to do all year around. Massanutten offers families a variety of activities to participate in such as skiing, snow tubing, zip lining, hiking, and even a petting zoo. What Massanutten Resort is most known for is their large indoor water park with waters being kept at 84 degrees and most importantly, a lazy river. Parents also have the ability to put their kids in Massanutten’s Kid’s Club which allows mom and dad a chance to visit the resort’s spa. There are endless activities to do at Massanutten Resort which makes it the perfect close to home destination for spring break.

Atlantis Resort, Bahamas

Thinking of leaving the country? The Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas is the perfect destination for families. The Atlantis Resort is home to Aquaventure which is a 141 acre Atlantean themed water park best known for their water slides and aqua adventures. There are 20 swim areas and plenty of water activities for the youngest family to the adults. There are beaches, an aquarium, and even a chance to swim with dolphins and sea lions at their animal rescue and conservation marine called Dolphin Cay. Atlantis Resort has numerous water slides, but their most popular is the Serpent Slide which has its guests slide down a tube and into a shark filled lagoon. With plenty of activities to entertain all members of the family and the chance to experience once in a lifetime adventures, Atlantis Resort is the perfect out the country vacation for spring break.
