For The Love Of Ghana
A Photographic Look At How One Millennial-Aged Prince Georgian Discovered Africa
Words, Photography And Video By Maleke Glee // Interim Executive Director // Prince George’s African American Museum & Cultural Center
My first experience in Africa was coordinated by Diallo Sumbry, and the Adinkra Group located in Mt. Rainer, MD. This once in a lifetime trip brought our homegrown sound, Go-Go music, to a land of undeniable musical influence, Ghana. Ghana is absolutely beautiful; from the people, to the food and sights, I recommend Ghana for all international travelers. Ghana has a rapidly growing economy and considerably progressive government. My eyes are now set on investment of my business and time in the country. Next year the Adinkra Group continues their "Back to Africa Festival". I strongly encourage residents of Prince George's County to travel to Africa, especially with the Adinkra Group. For more video, click here.
