February Fundraiser To Repair County Homes
Volunteer group, bringing Christmas joy to those less fortunate, invites everyone to dine, dance, raise the roof and some much needed funds.
Christmas in April, which is celebrating their 32nd year of service to County residents, will be holding a Benefit Dinner/Dance to help raise funds for materials. These funds will help purchase supplies to assist in the effort to repair the homes of approximately 65 County homeowners on April 25, 2020.
The Dinner/Dance will be held February 29, 6:00pm at the Columbia Moose Lodge in Clinton. The event includes dinner, dancing, live music performed by “The Strangers” with Special Guest – Cleopatra Recording Artist – Kat Parsons and a cash bar.

Christmas in April is a non-denominational volunteer organization that repairs the homes of senior citizens who are either low-income and/or physically challenged so they may live in warmth, safety, and independence. Since 1989, Christmas in April * Prince George’s County has repaired 2,744 homes with the help of 93,900 volunteers. Over $49.7 million dollars’ worth of free home repairs have been done.
The Prince George’s County program was founded in 1989 under the leadership of Vincent “Cap” Mona of Mona Electric and the Prince George’s County Government under the leadership of then County Executive Parris N. Glendening. The program has grown from helping 30 homeowners in 1989 with 600 volunteers to helping 82 homeowners in 2019 with the help of 3,200 volunteers.
