Forty Years Young And Still Celebrating The Women of Prince George’s

Women’s History Month Luncheon Set For March 26

As Women’s History Month approaches, one of Prince George’s County’s most cherished traditions is preparing to mark a remarkable milestone — four decades of celebrating leadership, service, and the enduring impact of women in public life.

County Executive Aisha Braveboy

Hosted by the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation and led by Aisha N. Braveboy, the 40th Annual Women’s History Month Luncheon promises to be both a celebration and a reflection on the extraordinary women who have shaped the county’s civic and community landscape. The event will take place Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the elegant Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor.

For four decades, the Women’s History Month Luncheon has served as a signature gathering honoring the dynamic accomplishments of women who serve in and partner with government to influence and strengthen local communities.

What began as a modest recognition ceremony has evolved into one of the county’s most anticipated society events, drawing elected officials, business leaders, nonprofit advocates, and community champions from across the region.

Over the years, the luncheon has recognized a remarkable roster of trailblazers whose work has left an indelible mark on Prince George’s County and beyond. Among past honorees are distinguished leaders such as Angela Alsobrooks, the county’s former executive and now U.S. senator; Donna Edwards, former congresswoman and national advocate for working families; Jolene Ivey, longtime county council leader and community champion; and Pamela Boozer-Strother, a respected civic leader and economic development advocate. Their achievements represent the spirit of determination and service that the luncheon has celebrated year after year.

The 40th anniversary gathering promises a festive atmosphere filled with reflection, inspiration, and celebration. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with leaders across government, business, and the nonprofit sector while honoring women whose dedication continues to shape Prince George’s County’s future.

As the county reflects on four decades of progress, the Women’s History Month Luncheon stands as a powerful reminder: when women lead, communities thrive — and Prince George’s County continues to be stronger for it.
