“I Didn’t Think It Could Happen”: Edmonston Mayor Tracy Gant And Husband, James, Describe Life With The Disease At Home And In Town Leadership

Tracy and James Gant already had enough on their plate raising their 15-year-old granddaughter and leading the town of Edmonston in her role as mayor.

Then came COVID-19.

The disease that has hit nearly 8,000 Prince Georgians afflicted both of them.

“It felt like someone beat me with bricks,” Mayor Gant said at a virtual town hall hosted by County Councilmember Jolene Ivey (D-Dist. 5) and Delegate Julian Ivey April 28.
