House Hunting The County Way
A One-Stop Shop For New Home Buyers
Move over “House Hunters”, Prince George’s County saved its residents and visitors time in travel and gridlock by bringing all they needed to know about house hunting to one place.
The Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the Housing Authority of Prince George's County presented the 2019 Housing Fair on June 8 [click here] at the Prince George's County Sports and Learning Complex in Landover.
The event featured industry professionals who spoke on such topics as preparing to purchase a home, and, purchasing and financing a home. Workshops, seminars and panel discussions offered a wide variety of topics tailored to assist in buying a new home, remaining in an existing home or transitioning into a larger or smaller home.
There were two drawings: one prize paid the rent or mortgage, up to $2000, to one lucky winner by the Housing Authority of Prince George’s County. The prize for the second drawing awarded up to $15,000 toward the down payment and closing cost to 3 first-time home buyers.
Visiting agencies presenting exhibits, demonstrations and workshops included; home developers, housing counselors, mortgage lenders, non-profit organizations, real estate attorneys, rental property managers, first-time home buyer programs.
