Bowie State U Launches New Radio Station for Students
By Nelia Dashiell // @NeliaBedilia
Get prepared to hear some local news on the radio from our very own HBCU Bowie State University students!
In April 2017, Bowie State University’s Department of Communications gave their students a new internet radio station called WBSU Bulldog Radio. This station was made in partnership with Radio One, the largest urban radio network, in the hope to provide students with a hands on experience in the broadcasting and to help further their studies and later their careers.
WBSU Bulldog Radio is available to stream online form the Department of Communications website and through an upcoming mobile app.
“It is a dream come true because we have been working diligently to open a first-class, student-operated radio station,” said Dr. Thomas, chair of the Department of Communication.
The students are extremely excited about this new opportunity and we can’t wait to hear more from them.
