Americans are expected to spend $7.5 Billion July 4 holiday, D.C. in Top 10 of Best Cities To Celebrate
For a year, consumers shifted their spending habits, unable to spend their money on movies, dinners or vacations due to a COVID lockdown, but as activities are returning back to ‘business as usual’ so are the dollars and 37% more Americans will travel this July 4 compared to last year.
According to WalletHub, Americans are projected to spend nearly $7.5 billion celebrating July 4 this year. The personal-finance website also released its report on 2021’s Best & Worst Places for July 4 Celebrations, as well as accompanying videos, to go along with interesting stats about the holiday in its 4th of July Facts & Figures infographic and Coronavirus and July 4 Survey.
To determine the best places to celebrate the most star-spangled occasion, WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities based on how well they balance holiday cost and fun. The data set of 23 key metrics ranges from average beer and wine prices to duration of fireworks shows to the Fourth of July weather forecast. Washington, D.C was rated eighth in best cities to celebrate Fourth of July, while New York was listed as number #1.
