The 2018 Brentwood Arts Exchange Hispanic Heritage Film Series celebrates women filmmakers in, and from Latin America.  All screenings are free, Thursdays at 7pm.

Films: Sept. 27: Zama, by Lucrecia Martel (Argentina); Oct. 4: El lugar mas pequeño (The Tiniest Place) by Tatiana Huezo (El Salvador and Mexico); Oct. 11: Los rubios (The Blonds) by Albertina Carri (Argentina) 

The selected films, showcase different approaches to the past and present politics in the continent's central and southern regions, while inviting the public to critically analyze if, and how gender plays a role in film making. 

Professor Ryan Long will direct a lively and engaging talk after each film. Ryan is a professor of Spanish and Portuguese at University of Maryland, College Park, School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.
