Hip Hop Listening Sessions: Iconic Groups

  • John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts - River Pavilion (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Celebrating times when people used to gather to listen to music in community, Hip Hop Listening Sessions are collaboratively generated musical experiences that provide audiences with the opportunity to engage in deep dives into an artist’s album/discography or generate live soundtracks centered on a theme. Each listening session will be complemented by a mixologist on-site, who will teach guests how to make their own themed cocktails.

We are delving into the pantheon of iconic groups in hip hop—from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run-D.M.C., the Beastie Boys, Salt-N-Pepa, Eric B. & Rakim, Public Enemy, Boogie Down Productions, Gang Starr, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang, N.W.A., Geto Boys, Digable Planets, Outkast, Goodie Mob, The Roots, The Fugees, Slum Village, Black Star, Clipse, The Diplomats, The Lox, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, UGK, and Mobb Deep to Migos, City Girls, and EarthGang, who’s on your list?

Come early, stay late!

Show up before the listening session for mixologist-crafted thematic cocktails and happy hour deals, and stay late for DJ sets.
