The World War One Centennial Commission invites the public to visit the site of the National World War Memorial, Washington, DC between November 8 and 12 for a “First Look at the National World War l Memorial.”

The film festival will showcase a diverse collection of World War I-themed films to enrich viewers’ experience and bring to life this momentous time in our nation’s history.  Beginning at 10 a.m., the film festival will screen the films listed below:

The premiere showings of the new US World War I Commission sponsored short film which tells the story of World War I through the elements of the sculpture being created by sculptor Sabin Howard for the National World War I Memorial.

The award-winning documentary about a privileged group of college students from Yale who formed a private air militia in preparation for America’s entry into World War I. They became the founding squadron of the U.S. Naval Air Reserve and were the first to fly for the United States in WWI.

The Maryland Wine Festival draws nearly 15,000 attendees each year and is one of the largest wine events on the East Coast. Featuring dozens of styles of wine, attendees have plenty of opportunity to experience new vintages, vendors and food each year.

The 37th Annual Kinderfest sensation is back! Families from all around the Washington metropolitan area are invited to participate in Kinderfest - a day focused on children featuring festivities, programs, and entertainment for the whole family. This annual fall festival for children is held at Watkins Regional Park on the first Sunday in October. Free admission. Fee for some activities and food concessions.

The fun starts at 11am on the first Sunday of each month through November as over 130 artists open their displays filled with art to the public in downtown Annapolis, Maryland. The day is also filled with free concerts and entertainment so there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Join us for the Patuxent Wildlife Festival at the National Wildlife Visitor Center!

It is on Saturday, October 6th, from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Families and all ages will be able to enjoy learning more about scientific research done here at Patuxent, take a tram tour through various habitats, engage with Law Enforcement and hop into the Wildlife on Wheels trailer, and see live animals.
