Celebrating and Supporting the Artistic Talent of Local Students

The Prince George’s Arts & Humanities Council proudly presents the 2017 Arts Gala, A Cultural Tapestry: Renaissance Through the Arts on Saturday April 8.  Partnering with the Prince George's County Public Schools, the event is an outstanding opportunity to share a commitment to furthering the access and impact of a quality arts education for students throughout Prince George’s County.

The gala showcases the talent and promise of the county’s students.  It also identifies the growing need to financially support the future 21st century workforce that exists throughout the public school system. Contributions will improve student academic outcomes by advancing the goals of an arts integrated curriculum, accelerating innovative learning environments and providing invaluable student exposure to successful artists and performers in all creative fields.  Through artist-in-residencies, arts and cultural field trips, technology- advanced maker spaces and other exemplary models that engage students with the arts, the vision is to be able to further elevate the impact of a high-quality arts education. By investing in young people's creative capital today, the community is nurturing the entrepreneurs, inventors, policymakers, and active citizens of tomorrow.

The event takes place at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center 3501 University Blvd. E. Hyattsville, MD 20783. 6 - 9:30 p.m. (VIP reception 6-7p.m.).
