The National Cherry Blossom Festival & Chase To Plant 30 Cherry Blossom Trees In Ward 8’s Oxon Run Park
On October 22, the National Cherry Blossom Festival will join three-time event sponsor, Chase, for a tree-planting ceremony in Oxon Run Park in Ward 8. Committed to giving back to southeast DC, Chase joins more than a dozen employees as they beautify Oxon Run Park in honor of the first 30 children who earned a Blossom Badge through the Festival’s Blossom Kids program, an artistically interactive online experience designed to help kids explore the festival’s history and learn about the Nation’s Capital as they earn achievement “badges.”
For nearly two decades, the festival has collaborated with schools, civic groups, and community groups through their Neighborhood Tree Planting Program to plant cherry trees throughout DC’s eight wards and National Landing in Northern Virginia.
Guest speakers include Alfonso Guzman, Chase Mid-Atlantic Regional Director , Absalom Jordan, Chair, Friends of Oxon Run Park
