10 Hot Valentine’s Day Ideas To Social Distance By

By Kia Lisby

A day loved and cherished by some and strongly disliked by others, Valentine’s Day can be a day of reflection for people trying to figure out their relationships, “situationships,” or as of recent popularity, “entanglements.” For the people moving in the right direction of their relationship and are wondering how they can celebrate the holiday safely but still intimately, here are a few ideas.

Home Massage/Spa Day:

Couples massages are a common date for Valentine’s Day. Instead of going out, you and your partner can give each other massages. Treat your partner to an at home spa treatment. Book your Valentine’s date appointment with your boo for a morning, evening, and/or night of sensuality.

Craft Cocktails:

Be your own mixologists and create a variety of cocktails to experiment with and taste. Name your drinks after each other or after a similarity that connects you both together.

Wine Tasting:

Have some wine and wind down with an at home wine tasting. Taste test wines you and your partner always wanted to try. Learn what wines pair best with what foods for maximum taste and experience or learn the origin of where the wines were imported from. Be creative!

Indoor Picnic:

Pair your wines with some good eats and have an indoor picnic. Pack all the essentials you would need for an outdoor picnic excursion and set them up in a relaxing area in your home. Adore one another over a nice meal and eye contact, in the comfort of your home.

Travel Theme:

Traveling with the one you love can bring shared memories and experiences. Bring your favorite city or country to you. Have a Valentine’s Day theme based on a favorite location visited or a place you both would like to visit after the pandemic ends.

Recreate Your Favorite/First Date:

If you and your partner have not traveled together yet or are unsure of where to travel after the pandemic, try recreating your favorite date or first date. Reminiscing and recreating can be just as special as the first time.

Valentine’s Bake-Off:

There is no harm in a friendly competition. Show who the best baker is in a Valentine’s bake-off. Create your own desserts to share and eat, whether from a box or from scratch and see who will get the baking crown.

 DIY Crafts and Gifts:

For those not gifted with the gift of cooking, do it yourself (DIY) activities may be a good alternative. Create Valentine’s themed crafts to make, and gift each other the finished creations. No matter how the craft turns out, it is the thought that counts, right?

Write Love Letters:

If crafts are not your forte, write and exchange handwritten letters. Express love, appreciation, and positive affirmatives to one another.

 Karaoke Night:

Enjoy a night of karaoke with your partner, singing love songs to each other and duetting to your favorite tunes. A little Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, or Luther Vandross may set the mood right for a night cap and frisky fun.
