The First 15 Years
Prince George’s Suite Magazine & Media Recognized For Local, Regional Coverage
From dining out to dining in, news to real estate, and everything in between, the contributions of Prince George’s Suite Magazine & Media have earned the publishers a congratulatory citation from The Maryland General Assembly.
A citation recognizes a specific achievement such as an anniversary, milestone birthday, retirement, or a similar occasion.
Senator Melony Griffith, also president pro tempore of the Maryland General Assembly, issued a letter of congratulations to Prince George’s Suite Magazine & Media recognizing its 15 years of publishing.
Many consider the award-winning publication to be the premier lifestyle magazine in Prince George’s.
“Thank you for the creative impactful work that you do in fostering and preserving the arts, business, culture and trends which offer positive options to those who live in this region. I look forward to continuing support of you and in continuing to read and appreciate Prince George’s [Suite] Magazine & Media.”
In an expression of gratitude and thanks, Prince George’s Suite publishers graciously accepted the recognition.
"We are humbled and thankful to Sen. Melony Griffith, Del. Darryl Barnes, Del. Nick Charles, Del. Dereck Davis and the entire Maryland General Assembly for its recognition of our 15 years publishing," says Prince George's Suite Magazine & Media Publisher/Editor Raoul Dennis. "It's a blessing that encourages us to continue and to become better at telling the story of the county to the region and the world."
The company produces Prince George’s Suite magazine - a general market lifestyle magazine that launched in 2005 to profile the county’s best while providing a high-level platform to address the primary issues facing the growing jurisdiction. The publication also highlights social, cultural and entertainment choices that shape the county identity. It also produces Prince George’s Suite Destinations - a going-out guide. It has been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 closures.
The Suite Shop allows visitors to see and engage in the many services offered at the magazine including: Suite Media Options, Advertising Options, Media Services, and Merchandise, in addition to the many informational articles.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for our work in highlighting what is beautiful about the county and its people. I’m especially fond of showcasing and amplifying the arts community on our website events calendar. There is so much talent here and whether it’s fine, visual or performing arts – or any other creative medium, we should all support them. The arts bring joy and balance to our lives,” says Associate Publisher Maria Lopez-Bernstein.
“The recognition bestowed upon this publication is greatly appreciated,” says Associate Publisher D.A. Phillips. “Now more than ever, Prince George’s County residents need to see the tremendous effort on the part of the county administration, the county council, faith-based organizations, our state and business leaders, Employ Prince George’s and others working tirelessly to help residents who are unemployed, facing evictions, in need of food, and seeking access to the Coronavirus vaccine. We hope these articles offer helpful information and provide a source of comfort that progress is being made and relief is coming to the residents of Prince George’s County.”
The veteran publisher also said that the success of the publication is only as good as the community it covers. “This business would not be where it is without the financial support of our subscribers, advertisers, business, faith-based and political leaders. Without them, we may not be in the position to continue to document and publish the good news of Prince George’s County to the country,” said Phillips.
Dennis also said that "it's nearly impossible for one to be successful in life or business without the faith and support of people who believe in them. We have been very fortunate to meet and work with some of the finest people in the world---who work and reside here in Prince George's. This citation represents their vision and support as well.”
