Prominent News Anchors Shawn Yancy and Allison Seymour To Host Annual Hope For Kids Fall Festival

Children experiencing homelessness is the biggest task for the local organization ‘Extra-Ordinary Birthdays (EOB)’, and this year they have announced two co-hosts for the annual event. Prominent news anchors, Shawn Yancy and Allison Seymour will host Hope For Kids Fall Festival, which will take families on a safari jungle adventure on November 6.

Featuring live music, food, activities, a costume contest, a candy tour, special guests, and more, the festival will begin at 1:00pm until 3:30pm at American University in Washington, DC. Families will venture into the wild in support of children experiencing homelessness. Served as a fundraiser, to help provide personalized birthday parties for homeless children in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. 

Shawn Yancy is an evening anchor at NBC4. Allison Seymour joined D.C. 's WUSA9 in 2020 and is a newsmaker for the morning news show, Get Up DC!

“Birthdays are special days in every child’s life,” says Shawn Yancy. “Extra-Ordinary Birthdays goes above and beyond to make sure children living in shelters have Extraordinary celebrations no matter where they live, and I am honored to support EOB and its mission to grant wishes and make dreams come true.”

In addition to raising funds, the Hope for Kids Fall Festival is Extra-Ordinary Birthdays’ way of giving the community first-hand experience of an EOB party and showcasing how the organization is changing the lives of homeless children one personalized birthday party at a time.
