The Beltway BBQ Showdown Is Back With Mouthwatering BBQ, Live Entertainment And More

June 2 marks the 14th Edition of the Beltway BBQ Showdown. From noon to 6 pm at the Show Place Arena Equestrian Center, Maryland’s best grillers will compete to show off their barbeque skills and snag a spot in the American Royal Competition in Kansas City, Missouri.  

The Beltway BBQ Showdown is an exciting, family-friendly event for barbecue lovers, foodies, and individuals interested in a good time. Tickets are free for children ages five and under and only $12 for children ages 6+ and adults.

  This year’s showdown will feature live performances from Future Band DC, New Impressionz, and Black Alley and an ultimate line dance party led by Saundra, instructor of Style & Rhythm Line Dancers. It is a grilliant time to vibe and make memories.  

  Declared the State BBQ Championship in 2007, the showdown has continued as a celebration of the history and art of barbecuing in Prince George’s and the Mid-Atlantic region, offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, including live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, a car, truck & bike show, vendors of BBQ/food, goods & crafts, and a children’s/family activity area. The showdown is nationally sanctioned as a Master’s Series Level Event by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS), a competitive cooking organization, and the world’s largest membership of barbeque enthusiasts.

  Although competitors will not be selling their unique BBQ to the public, as they will be intently focused on becoming the grand champion of the showdown to compete in Kansas City, there will be plenty of opportunities to taste delicious BBQ from the many vendors on-site. Watch the grill in action and enjoy the BBQ festivities.
