Local Business Participation Advisory Committee Hosts Public Forum for Local, Small, and Minority Businesses in Prince George's County, Md.
The Local Business Participation Advisory Committee, established by Council Resolution 100-2014 to provide a formal platform for addressing the needs and concerns of the business community, will convene on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Surratts-Clinton Library, 9400 Piscataway Road in Clinton, Maryland.
The Advisory Committee meeting will feature a briefing on Council Bill 74-2016 - Local Economic Opportunity and Employment Act - by Council Member Mel Franklin (D) – District 9. Supplier Development and Diversity Division Executive Director Cydnee Phoenix will discuss the County’s Certification Programs. Attendees will have an opportunity to address issues and concerns that arise in their efforts to successfully compete for major development projects in the public and private sectors.
The stated mission of the Local Business Participation Advisory Committee is to increase the participation and capacity of local businesses and local minority businesses in public and private sector procurements.
