Coalition of County Leaders Head to South Korea for Trade Mission

This week, Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, through the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, is leading a coalition of County business leaders to Seoul, Goyang City and Cheonan City, South Korea to stimulate partnership, trade, and investment with Prince George’s County businesses and projects.

“Over the last six years, Prince George’s County has created jobs and economic opportunity at a breakneck pace,” said County Executive Baker. “The County’s potential and progress has not only caught the attention of the business community around our state, region, and nationally, but, also, around the globe, due to our economic trade missions. I believe it is for the good of Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland to explore international markets that could lead to more investment and subsequent job opportunities for our residents.”

In South Korea, County Executive Baker will attend the Global Mobile Vision convention in Seoul – South Korea’s largest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) gathering. County Executive Baker will also be meeting with South Korean businesses, political leaders, touring a high school and elementary school, as well as signing a “Friendship Agreement” agreement with Cheonan City, South Korea.

This is County Executive Baker’s sixth international trade mission following India (2011), Brazil (2012), China (2014 and 2015) and Cuba (2016). County Executive Baker has also traveled twice to Okinawa, Japan to deliver commencement speeches to Prince George’s County based University of Maryland, University College recipients.

County Executive Baker in Cheonan City, South Korea and will attend Cheonan City Festival Opening.  

 

Thursday, September 14, 2017 

County Executive Baker in Seoul, South Korea to attend Global Mobile Vision convention and will visit Goyang City to attend a meeting with Mayor of Goyang City as well as tour the Goyang National Cancer Center and Goyang Global High School.

 

Friday, September 15, 2017

County Executive Baker in Cheonan City, South Korea and will visit Bulmu Elementary School, tour the Cheonan City Techno Park, and visit Cheonan City Hall to sign a “Friendship Agreement” between Prince George’s County and Cheonan City.
