Del. Angela Angel Shares ‘Panther’ With Community, Youth
Sometimes the mountain does come to Muhammad. At least it may when he has an angel in his corner.
Delegate Angela Angel invited community residents to attend a screening of the blockbuster hit movie “Black Panther” Feb. 21. The movie, with a majority black cast, has raked in over $700 million since opening weekend and is currently the number one movie in the world.
Angel, who is running for the senate, says she took a break from the campaign trail to share the film with people who might not ordinarily be able to see it. The film is considered an important one for young African Americans.
“Great to have the community come out to see “Black Panther,” Angel says. “I was blessed to hear from a grandmother who was the primary caregiver for her three grandchildren that she was thrilled to bring them. She said she would not have been able to take them on her own. I thought it was such an important and amazing film to share with my fellow Prince Georgians. Over 140 registered for the event. We are in a defining moment as a country and a county. It’s important to celebrate our achievements and honor the Wakandan warrior spirit in all of us.”
It’s a good thing angels like popcorn.
