Young Professionals Council (YPA) To Host Two Events On June 29 To Aid Scholarships

“I'M ROCKING ON THE RANGE! I'M SCRAMBLING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS! I'M SUPPORTING

SCHOLARSHIPS!”

A great motto is hard to find, but not when young people set their minds to it.

The Young Professionals Council (YPA) will host their Scholarship Scramble & Jailhouse Rock on the Range on June 29 at their program location, Laurel Hill Golf Club in Lorton, VA.

The Scholarship Scramble will be a traditional scramble format with a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start.

As this year’s marquee fundraising event for the Young Professionals Council of The First Tee of Greater Washington DC., YPC is set to maximize the number of foursomes. “It will be a day of fun on the course with the team that you field. If you cannot field a full foursome, register anyway and we will make sure your foursome is filled,” the leaders at YPC report.

As YPC has in the past four years for their Golf-A-Thon, organizers are raising funds through Crowdrise. Their goal is to raise $30,000 this year.

Since its inception, the golfing events have raised over $65,000 to benefit The First Tee of Greater Washington, DC. The funds raised are ‘dedicated to providing college scholarships, supporting various program locations and classes, and golf equipment for participants.’

The YPC will wind down the day with Jailhouse Rock on the Range. This concert, slated to begin after the Scholarship Scramble, is open to everyone.

Event doors open at 5:00 p.m. and music will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Music from bands, ‘Skeleton Crew’ and ‘Rusty Cage’ will be 'rocking on the range' until about 9 p.m. that evening.

All The First Tee of Greater Washington, DC participants may attend for no-charge. Adult tickets are $15 and tickets for children who are not in the program will be $10.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets and find a spot on the range: enjoy some rock on the green.
