By Tiffany Young
A total of $40,000 in funding will be awarded to eligible county residents and businesses through the Prince George's County Social Innovation Fund (PGCSIF), which seeks to make strategic investments in causes that align with their mission and priorities. The fund, part of the Impact Grant Program, will split the total award into four (4) $10,000 grants to provide collaborative and impactful solutions in the areas of Business, Education, Public Service, Arts & Humanities, Health, and Science & Engineering.
The Prince George’s Social Innovation Fund has been grounded in a culture that believes that through innovative solutions, alignment across and within sectors, and a keen focus on results, Prince George’s County can quickly shift course on a broad number of issues.
They recognize the pockets of opportunity in the County, and over the past ten years have made the connection between the multiple stakeholders who are attempting to address the same issues. PGCSIF’s aim was to identify the best talent, the best national practices, build local forums and infrastructure to facilitate solutions, align on exponential outcomes, and quickly increase impact.
PGCSIF’s Impact Grant Program is part of an effort to continue the work of the Prince George's County Social Innovation Fund Advisory Board.
