Anderson Walker Joins Maryland Governor’s Race
Councilmember Joins Franchot Campaign As Franchot Running Mate
One of Prince George’s own local leaders has joined the race for the governor’s office.
According to sources, Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot, who is among the field of Democratic candidates for governor, named Prince George’s County Councilwoman Monique Anderson-Walker (D- Dist. 8) as his running mate.
Anderson-Walker was elected to the Prince George’s County Council in 2018.
Franchot said in a statement that he values Anderson-Walker’s “commitment to community and her innovative, pragmatic solutions to the challenges Maryland families face.”
