Prince George’s County, MD Story Continues To Unfold In Pages Of Prince George’s Suite Magazine

Prince George’s Suite Magazine’s 68-page Fall/Winter 2021 edition is about rising above a pandemic, like a phoenix.  Editors say the stories and images in the new edition are more diverse in range and more personal.

The edition covers growth projects: David Iannucci of the PGCEDC and his confidence in the “Build Back Better” plan for the County, Vibes Cuisine which grew from food truck to restaurant, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital’s new $43 Million emergency room and the story and vision of Pepco’s Regional President Donna Cooper.

There are introductions to local champions: breast cancer survivor Madeline Long turned tragedy into a new kind of support system for women; Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County, Inc. embarked on a new incubator in Suitland; A Father’s Place, Prince George’s County supports dads in becoming their better selves.

“More than in the past, this edition highlights families, start-ups, small and mid-sized businesses and the tenacity they have,” says Publisher Raoul Dennis. “It includes single women raising their families alongside stories of new restaurateurs, job makers and filmmakers in Prince George’s. And cover model Barbara Holt Streeter and her team cap off the edition with their sense of style – something that is a DNA embedded signature in Prince George’s County, MD.”

“The edition is a business savvy, family embracing, community supporting experience in the lives of the people of Prince George’s,” says Prince George’s Suite Magazine Associate Publisher Maria Lopez Bernstein. “We highlight bold local visionaries such as Dr. John Barnhardt, President and CEO of Bishop McNamara High School; Prince George’s County Council Vice Chair Deni Taveras; Nicholas A. Brown, COO for Communication and Outreach for Prince George’s County Memorial Library System.”

“It’s great to finally partner with Prince George’s County Memorial Library System. We’re proud to work with the newly defined library and its efforts to evolve into a truly 21st century, multi-faceted information source that is becoming more of extension of our culture as well,” Dennis says.

The business section champions local businesses and nonprofits who came to the rescue during the pandemic with an eye-opening 2022 business outlook introduction by Prince George’s County Economic Development President and CEO David Iannucci. It’s followed by the origins and insights from several county-based business leaders including Employ Prince George’s, Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI), Keller Williams Preferred Properties and Strativia, a professional services company. The section introduces the Bowie State University’s $42 million Entrepreneurship Hub and partners with Prince George’s Community College’s new Innovation Hub, Inncuvate.
