Leaders Get Ready For Prince George’s State Of The Economy Address

As the nation works to rebound from the economic ravages of Covid-19, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks is expected to address the upcoming fiscal year and special concerns surrounding the economy as a result of the pandemic. The virtual State of the Economy Address will be held April 21.
Speakers will include Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, President and CEO of the Greater Prince George’s Business Roundtable M.H. Jim Estepp, and Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO David Iannucci.
“We are excited to welcome County Executive Alsobrooks back for this first-of-its-kind Virtual State of the Economy Address, reminding businesses and the community about the continuing promise of Prince George’s,” says M.H. Jim Estepp..
The Virtual State Of The Economy event is presented by The Greater Prince George’s Business Roundtable and the Prince George’s Economic Development Corporation. The annual event comes in the shadow of county economic growth over the past 10 years prior to the pandemic.
“This virtual event will cover new plans for economic development throughout the county, engaging the county’s workforce, the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, as well as its recovery and reopening,” according to the Prince George’s Economic Development Corporation.
“The county has been challenged by the global pandemic, but this community is resilient and better days are ahead. Along with our event partners at the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, we eagerly await our Executive’s message of hope and prosperity for every person and business who calls Prince George's County home,” says Estepp.
