Prince George's County Soccer Team Wins Tournament, Support From Pepsi
The Prince George's County's Future Soccer Club didn’t make a lot of noise but they knew they were ready.
Prince George's County's Future Soccer Club won the Dallas Cup, a first in the program's history.
The victory earned the team more than bragging rights.
Future has been named part of the "Starting Eleven" for PepsiCo's "Team of Champions" 2021.
PepsiCo chose the soccer club as one of eleven clubs in the country in which to invest $1 million spread out over three years.
"The Dallas Cup's been around for 42 years. It's the biggest tournament in the United States of America," said head coach Mark Brown recently in a report by ABC News.
"It's a big tournament, so to be able to finish like that, win it, especially for Maryland, it's just awesome," said center midfielder Adetey Gbadehan in the ABC News story by Justin Hinton.
"Nobody would have thought that this little team in Upper Marlboro was going to Dallas and striking everybody," said Sterling Harris, II who plays left wing.
